Our beautiful site is particularly suitable for students who might need breakout space and a natural setting to help them thrive.
● When: Thursdays 1pm-3pm in term time – June to June beginning Thursday 5th June 2025
● Cost: £20 per student, per session, payable in advance per half term.
● Group size: min 8, max 14 to ensure a good balance between personal attention and shared learning.
● Location: we regard in-person learning as desirable where possible, so teaching and learning sessions will occur at our base, Rivida Cottage, 12 Backwell Common, BS48 3AD.
● Teacher: the teacher responsible for the progress of the group and the primary delivery of the course will be Tom Biddle. Some variety in teaching can be advantageous, however, and occasional sessions may be taken by other highly-qualified English teachers employed by Yellow Wood Education for the purpose. We will make students and families aware of any guest-teacher sessions well in advance.

FAQs
We are happy to commit to the course, but payment for half-terms in advance is a barrier for us.
We are more interested in the commitment than the prior payment of fees, so we are happy to discuss this with you individually. Please get in touch.
Do you run sessions in the school holidays?
We follow the N.Somerset school term dates for sessions. However, students will need to do some independent work inholidays, just as they will between taught sessions during term time.
Which exam board and specification will be studied and is the cost of entry included?
Edexcel IGCSE English Language Specification A, 9-1, code 4EA1. The cost of examination entry is not included in the course price which covers teaching and venue.
How do you ensure the safeguarding of the sessions? Anyone involved in running the course and interacting with your children will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and references check. More detail on our safeguarding policy and procedures can be found
on our website.
Is there parking available? There is limited parking available and we anticipate most students being dropped off, or coming by public transport. We may be able to arrange lifts from and to bus stops or the train station by arrangement.
Are sessions held in your home? Tom and Emma Biddle are the directors of the company, and we live onsite with our children. In addition to the family house we have outbuildings including toilet facilities and a paddock that we use for our education and wellbeing work. Students will use those and the family house will not be in use for sessions.
